Spyken upper secondary school is situated in the center of Lund. It is a school with traditions from the 19 century but, at the same time, it is a very modern school. In our educations we aim at conveying the knowledge and competence that prepare our students to meet their future continued studies and professional life.
The upper secondary school of Spyken enrols 1200 pupils, but gives the feeling of a smaller school with its atmosphere of community spirit. At our shared yard everyone can meet and spend time together. Our students feel they can be who they are and their time here should be characterized by positive experiences.
Our four national programs
At Spyken there are four upper secondary school programmes: Social science, Natural science, Humanities and Arts. We also have a specialized Music programme oriented towards the genres pop, rock and jazz as well as Sciences with Music or Art and Design as specialization.
In order to guarantee the highest level of our education this school has good contacts with trade and industry in our region and Lund University, and we also have a rich network of contacts with schools in foreign countries.
At Spyken we also have varied selection of courses to individualize the learners’ education. The possibilities for the students to develop their knowledge of languages are good. We offer courses in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Danish and Sign language. At Spyken the students have the opportunity to customize their education to give it the profile they want.
At Spyken it’s important that the students and the teachers are involved in everything that happens here. As a pupil you should have the possibility to have an influence on your education and your work environment. Therefore our school has a clear organization for students’ participation.
