Project Objectives

First, all partner schools teach a number of L3 languages and have close contacts with a university or teacher-training school for the languages in question. One objective is to share methods between the different languages, to enhance the equivalence between how the languages are taught and find inspiration in what we believe to be different approaches to language teaching/learning.

Second objective is to strengthen the L3 languages compared to the L2, which is English. Improving our L3 education we will have more students studying these languages, reaching higher levels and striving towards being comparable to L2 English. In our work we believe that cooperation is essential. Emphasising multilingualism will strengthen all L3 languages. Together we are stronger. “The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment” will serve as a toolkit for workshops, lesson plans and assessment of level of language. The Europass will be the self assessment tool for the students at the end of each school year.

A third objective is to improve the use of ICT in language teaching/learning at our schools. A sustainable language education has to have developed ICT methods. They will make it possible to individualise teaching/learning and to work across borders, with each other’s schools and students.

A fourth objective is to strengthen the exchange with our partners in higher education. They will contribute with research, lectures, observation, evaluation of methods and teacher-training students. Through research schools will improve their competences and the project collaboration will be part of research or give ideas for future research in the field of language teaching/learning.

Target groups for the project are the students of L3-languages and their teachers at the partner schools. Improved teaching methods will result in stimulated and motivated students striving to reach the levels of L2 also for the L3. Teacher training students are also a target group. We wish to prove the importance of international projects and inspire them to carry the methods and ideas on in their careers.
